Sections On Your Application Explained

  1. Eligibility

    Carefully review the eligibility requirements to ensure that HomeWarming is the right program for you. If you do not meet the requirements visit www.efficiencyns.ca/residential to learn about other available programs.

  2. Notice of Assessment

    All adults (over the age of 18) who live in the house as their primary residence must provide their most recent Notice of Assessment from the Canadian Revenue Agency. The Notice of Assessment provides a complete income summary and will be used to evaluate if the household’s net income level qualifies for HomeWarming. Net income is shown on line 236 on your Notice of Assessment:

  3. Proof of home ownership

    Proof of homeownership must also be included with the application. Provide a copy of either your property tax assessment, property tax bill, or bill of sale. Sample property tax bill:

  4. Homeowner name

    First and last name of the homeowner. This must match the name identified on the supplied proof of home ownership document.

  5. Civic address

    The address where the house is located. This may be different from the mailing address. Please list the house number before the street name and avoid using abbreviations.

  6. Mailing address

    The mailing address of the person applying to HomeWarming. This only needs to be completed if the mailing address is different from the civic address.

  7. Secondary contact

    If there is another person you would like to include as a secondary contact on your file, list their information here. If not, please leave blank.

  8. Electricity account number

    The unique electricity account number. This can be found on your electricity bill or by contacting your provider.

  9. Number of residents – adults

    Include all adults (over the age of 18) who live in the house as their primary residence.

  10. Number of residents – children

    Include all children (under the age of 18) who live in the house as their primary residence.

  11. Home heating source

    If the main source of heat for the home is not listed, please explain how the house is heated.

  12. Consent & Disclaimer

    The Consent and Disclaimer outlines how the application information will be used, and who will have access to it. It can be found at: www.homewarming.ca/consent-and-disclaimer/

  13. Signatures of applicants

    All adults (over the age of 18) who live in the house as their primary residence must sign and date the application.

  14. Submitting your Application

    There are 3 ways to submit your application; mail, email, or fax. It is not required to submit your application by all three methods of submission. Remember, to include “Attention: HomeWarming” if you are submitting your application via fax.
